These Terms and Conditions ("Terms") apply to the Skipstone website, the Skipstone web app and the Skipstone mobile apps (together, "Skipstone" or the "Service"), provided by Skipstone ("we", "us"). By creating an account or using Skipstone you agree to these Terms and to our Privacy Policy. If you don't agree, please don't use Skipstone.
1. Who can use Skipstone
You must be at least 16 years old, or the age of digital consent where you live if that is higher, to create an account. You are responsible for keeping your password safe and for everything that happens in your account. Tell us straight away if you think someone else has accessed it.
2. Your account
- Give accurate information when you register, and keep your email address up to date so we can reach you.
- New accounts have to be verified before they can be used.
- You can deactivate your account at any time; your data is kept and you can come back by signing in again.
- You can delete your account at any time from your profile. Your account is closed straight away and permanently deleted, with all its data, after 30 days. Signing in during those 30 days lets you restore it.
3. What Skipstone does
Skipstone helps you plan trips: destinations and dates, budgets and expenses, currency exchanges, flights and accommodation, day-by-day agendas, photos, and the people travelling with you and their travel documents. It is a planning tool. Information shown in Skipstone, such as exchange rates, budgets, locations, document expiry reminders or anything you enter yourself, may be incomplete or out of date. Always check bookings, prices, entry requirements and travel documents with the airline, hotel, government or other provider before you travel.
4. Your content
You keep ownership of everything you add to Skipstone ("your content"), including trip details, notes, photos and documents. You give us permission to store, process and display your content only as needed to run Skipstone for you.
If you add details about other people, such as companions and their travel documents, you confirm that you have their permission to do so.
If you choose to share a city agenda as an Adventures story, you give us permission to publish the parts you chose on the Skipstone website until you withdraw or delete it. Stories are reviewed before they are published, and we may decline or remove any story.
5. Acceptable use
Don't use Skipstone to:
- break the law or anyone else's rights, including privacy and intellectual property rights;
- upload content that is unlawful, harmful, hateful, sexually explicit or that you don't have the right to share;
- try to access other people's accounts or data, or interfere with, overload or probe Skipstone's systems;
- copy, resell or automate access to Skipstone, except through features we provide for that purpose.
We may suspend or close accounts that break these rules.
6. Availability and changes
We work to keep Skipstone running and your data safe, but we can't promise it will always be available or free of errors. Please keep your own copies of important travel documents. We may change, add or remove features. If we make a significant change to these Terms we will tell you in the app or by email, and ask you to agree again where required.
7. Fees
Skipstone is currently free to use. If we introduce paid features, we will explain the price and terms before you are charged.
8. Liability
To the extent the law allows, Skipstone is provided "as is". We are not liable for indirect or consequential losses, or for losses caused by relying on information in Skipstone, such as missed flights, expired documents or budget differences. Nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law.
9. Ending your use
You can stop using Skipstone and delete your account at any time. We may suspend or end your access if you seriously or repeatedly break these Terms, or if we have to by law. Where we can, we will tell you first and give you a chance to save your data.
10. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Maldives. Any dispute will be handled by the courts of the Maldives, unless the law where you live gives you the right to bring a claim in your local courts.
